Mastering Horizontal Plyometrics for ACL Rehab 🚀 . Mastering Horizontal Plyometrics for ACL Rehab 🚀
.
While vertical jumps are common in ACL reconstruction recovery, training your body to translate force forward is critical for a safe return to sport. Are you incorporating horizontal plyometrics into your routine?
Here is a step-by-step progression to build explosive, controlled power:
Level 1: Forward Moving Pogos
Focus on double-leg quick ground reaction time. Stay light on your feet, move forward, and never let your heels collapse down.
Level 2: Hurdle Jump with a Stick
Jump over a hurdle, absorb the landing, and stick it. Focus on one rep at a time to master force generation and impact absorption.
Level 3: Continuous Hurdle Hops
Remove the pause and jump continuously through the hurdles. This trains your body to absorb impact and immediately generate power with a slightly longer ground contact time.
 Level 4: Band-Resisted Broad Jump
Using a strength band anchored behind you, attack the ground and explode as far forward as possible. Perform 4 to 6 reps for 3 sets to build maximum power while maintaining a controlled landing.
Level 5: Depth Drop to Broad Jump
Step off a box, absorb the downward impact, and immediately explode forward into a broad jump.
The ultimate goal isn’t just power—it is being explosive while staying entirely in control of the movement.
👇 Comment below: Which level of this progression have you tried

Are you really confident in your knee after ACL re Are you really confident in your knee after ACL reconstruction? 🤔
Before you step back on the court or the field, you need to test how your body reacts to unpredictability.
In this drill, we introduce mid-air contact using a Swiss ball (or just a light tap) to simulate game-like perturbations.
When you’re jumping for a rebound in basketball or going up for a header in soccer, contact is inevitable.
A lot of athletes hesitate or fear that impact after a major injury. By safely reintroducing contact in a controlled environment, you can rebuild your confidence and ensure your landing mechanics are locked in before a real game.
Start light with a simple tap, and progress to more aggressive pushes with the Swiss ball as you get stronger.
Have you incorporated contact drills into your rehab yet? Let us know in the comments below! ⬇️

Recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery? 🏀 Befo Recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery? 🏀 Before you can explode off the floor, you need to learn how to land. We always preach putting on the brakes before the gas. Here is our 5-level progression for single-leg plyometrics to get you back on the court safely:
Level 1: Single Leg Snap Down. Start high, snap down aggressively, and land on one leg to build trunk stability and knee/hip control.
Level 2: Single Leg Pogos. Stay on the balls of your feet for 10-20 seconds to quickly train flexion and extension.
Level 3: Single Leg Reactive Step. Stomp onto the ground and jump straight up to focus on the propulsion phase. (4-6 reps)
Level 4: Band Assisted Repeated Jumps. Use a band to offload your weight so you can jump higher, focus on ground reaction time, and absorb the impact. (4-6 reps)
Level 5: Single Leg Counter Movement Box Jump. Start high, attack the ground, explode up, and stick the single-leg landing on the box. Be powerful, but stay in control of that power. (4-6 reps)
