It is also great for any athlete that wants to improve their foot and ankle to optimize movement and performance. We make it easy for you to take care of your ankle at home or at a gym and decrease your risk of having another ankle sprain.  

It is for any athlete of any age, who has sprained their ankle or wants to optimize their foot and ankle health! The program is more specific for jumping athletes, such as basketball and volleyball.  

As Doctors of Physical Therapy, we have seen countless number of patients and athletes come in with ankle and foot injuries in the past several years, with lateral ankle sprains being the most common. Using the latest evidence based research and years of our clinical experience we have designed an effective Basketball Ankle Sprain P/Rehab Program that anyone can follow with little equipment.  

  • You should have learned how to optimize your foot and ankle mobility, motor control, strength, and stability. 
  • Improve overall function of your foot & ankle after initial healing following an ankle sprain.
  • Use the objective measurements that we provided to determine how much you improved. 

This program requires very little equipment. All you would need is:

  • Foam Roller
  • Tennis/Lacrosse Ball
  • Air-ex Pad/Pillows/Blanket/Towels

  • Weights (Kettle Bell, Dumbbell, Household Items)

The Ankle Basketball P/Rehab Program includes exercise videos with verbal and written instructions of over 85 videos. Each exercise provides you with details regarding how to perform it, where you should be feeling it, and common compensations to avoid. We also tell you exactly how many reps, sets and rest period should be done per exercise.  

The program will take you through a step-by-step progression on how we believe is the perfect progression of foot and ankle exercises to help you rehab your ankle. These exercises will focus on strengthening, mobility and stability to get you back jumping, running, and playing sports.

The Ankle Basketball P/Rehab Program is a total of 4 weeks. Each weeks consists of 5 training days, with 3 days being your big rehab days (45-60 minutes) and the other two days being shorter (30-40 minutes) that are focused on different goals. 

Once you have purchased it, you can start right away! You will receive an email showing you how to sign in and get started right away. After signing into The Basketball Doctors App, the program can be used via our Basketball Docs app on your iPhone, Android, computer, iPad or whichever device that is compatible with our app. 

We suggest starting the program after you allowed your ankle to heal for 5-10 days following a recent/acute ankle sprain, or anytime after that. Evidence supports offloading the ligament in the first several days to allow for tissue healing to occur and limit further tissue damage.
